I personally would rule in favor of allowing the DNA testing on the blood to be done for the purpose of furthering medical knowledge.  In my opinion, regardless of what the decision of the "officials" is, the greater good of research into Marfan syndrome should prevail.  It's not like the entire cloak would be lost; indeed, would any of it?
