Thank You Bruce Buzbee

We all get them, the phone call from a friend or family member wanting to know how to start the research into their family history.

This weekend I heard from a friend in Florida and I am so pleased she has embarked on this journey while she still has family members to consult.

Yes, I gave her the appropriate how to begin lecture and then she asked about a Genealogy Software program. I'm a Mac and she's a PC. I use Reunion, but at Jamboree I received a lovely gift in my "Swag Bag" from Bruce Buzbee, President, RootsMagic Inc. (one of our GeneaHunks).

It was a fully featured copy of the RootsMagic Genealogy Software with the following note:

Dear GeneaBlogger,

We hope you enjoy this complimentary, full-featured copy of RootsMagic Genealogy Software.

If you already have your own copy of RootsMagic, please feel free to give this copy away to a friend or as a prize in a blog contest.

If you don't feel like going through the trouble, please use the CD as a Frisbee and the packaging to line your birdcage.

Bruce Buzbee
President, RootsMagic Inc.

I loved the generosity and the note; so thank you Bruce. Your gift is making its way from Seattle to Florida to start another family historian on the ride of her life. I hope she becomes a faithful RootsMagic user.

Start Collecting Memories

96th EDITION OF THE Carnival Of Genealogy

The topic for the next edition of the Carnival of Genealogy is:

Scrapbooking Your Family History!

- ¤ -

Here's a real challenge for you... Who's up to the task?

- ¤ -

Create a scrapbook page on any theme that suits one
or more of your vintage photos.

- ¤ -

If you don't feel very artistic, lay a few photos down on a piece
of colored paper, add a few captions, take a snapshot of it, and voila!
You have yourself a digital scrapbook page!

- ¤ -

If you enjoy creating traditional scrapbook pages,
take a picture of one you've done, and that works too.

- ¤ -

If you're up for creating something more artsy,
buy a kit or make your own. Go for it!

- ¤ -

If you've never done scrapbooking before, this is the opportunity
you've been waiting for! If you're an experienced scrapbooker,
dig in and enjoy the creative process!
