Mr. Maven Saves The Planet

This is something I'm adding to our personal family history, for future generations. I'm sharing it with you, because Mr. Maven is well known in the circles in which he travels, but not here. (Except for that Blodging article.) For the tremendous work he has accomplished and for family pride I give you a very solid step toward saving the planet.
December 2008
W HOTEL RECYCLING WATER AND SAVING
THOUSANDS ANNUALLY
This past year the W Hotel in Downtown Seattle, implemented a water and condensate recovery system that has recycled 1.5 million gallons of water saving the hotel $56,000 to date in water, sewer and energy charges.
They have accomplished this through the capture of condensate and laundry wash water which is then filtered, stored and redirected for use in the laundry's wash cycles. With financial surrort from Seattle Public Utilities, the project was quickly designed & constructed and immediately began its payback.
Mr. Maven, Chief Engineer at the W Hotel, is very pleased with the project and results. "The system has been absolutely flawless. Seattle Public Utilities supported the $140,000 project with a $60,000 contribution and we expect to beat our goal of a 3-year return."
So, to my own private Kermit. Thank you for saving the planet 1.5 million gallons of water at a time.

Congratulations, Mr. Maven. No dirty laundry at the W, it would seem. I wonder if your system would work at my house in Southern California? I hear talk of water rationing ahead.
Denise:
All water saved in Washington eventually ends up in Southern California.
I remember having to ration water when we lived there, many moons ago. I DIDN"T LIKE IT!

Yeah Mr. Maven! Great job on saving the planet!
Could I interest you in taking on the job of saving the Big 3 auto companies? We are in desperate need... please help!
Jasia:
Here in Washington we lost WaMu and 3,600 jobs just this week. More businesses are trimming down. It will get worse before it gets better.
I realize that the Big 3 may have to change their way of living, but in the meantime let's get them back on the road. Build the cars the people want. Government dictating to them is like the pot calling the kettle black.
Heaven help us all!
I bet Mr. Maven could save the Big 3, he's a MacGyver sort of guy.

Way to go Mr Maven! Now if only folks around the Great Lakes would follow suit. Our unlimited supply isn't quite unlimited it seems.
Apple:
You'd think our supply was unlimited in Washington, but we have to share.
Now, does this mean I get a longer shower? I doubt it.
