Time For A Distraction
Yes, it's been a tough week - time for a distraction.
One of my local bookstores has issued a challenge to its customers and I will pass that challenge on to you.
The rules:
1) Write your own story in book spines.
2) Use your own books. (No fair running off to the library!)
The challenge is based on the Sorted Books Project started in 1993. You should visit the project for inspiration.
Here Is My Contribution

I like this challenge. hmmmm.... fiction or memoir???
Interesting challenge --- but the mood I'm in just now makes me wish I could go find some really pithy titles. But I followed the directions and pulled only titles within arms reach from my desk. Here is/are my distraction(s): http://hillcountryofmonroecountry.blogspot.com/2008/09/distraction-of-books-five-verses-no.html

I thought I was the only one who did this! I have so many books, I should open my own lending library. Only the closest observers would probably notice the methods to my madness. Stacked in just about every room of the house, are titles arranged to convey subliminal messages. Some are benign welcomes near the front door. Others are meant to spark your appetite in the dining room. But, the funniest stack is the one that . . . er . . . offers "encouragement" in the bathroom!!
